Stephane C, B.S.

Imaging Specialist
Personal Statement:

Stephane, born in Rochester, MN, graduated from the University of Arizona in 2013 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Shortly after joining the Mantyh lab as an undergraduate his senior year, Stephane discovered his passion for microscopy and imaging. Currently, as a member of the imaging team, he uses bright field and confocal microscopy along with radiography to visualize macroscopic and microscopic changes in bone structure and skeletal innervation in malignant and non-malignant models of musculoskeletal skeletal pain. More recently, his research efforts have focused on clarifying the mechanisms that contribute to chronic skeletal pain after tissue injury in the young and aging individual. He aspires to enter the medical field and continue addressing the needs of those affected by this debilitating pain. When he is not working in the lab, Stephane can be found studying Portuguese, pursuing his interest in philosophy, volunteering in a hospice or youth mentorship program, or enjoying the great outdoors.
