Personal Statement: 

Jean-Marc Guedon, was born and raised on Guam where he obtained a B.A. (2006) in Biology from the University of Guam. He then pursued a Sc.M. (2009) at Johns Hopkins University investigating the affects of increasing cytoplasmic tag lengths on Influenza M2 protein. From there he moved to the University of Pittsburgh to pursue his Ph.D. (2014) in molecular virology and microbiology investigating chronic Varicella Zoster Virus-induced pain. He recently joined the Mantyh Lab and is involved in investigating the role of nerve sprouting on cancer progression. Outside of lab, Jean-Marc likes to travel, cook, watch TV, and watch the stock market.
